About Us
 We are Clint Thompson and Jane Roberts, owners and operators, and we want to welcome you to The Peony Farm.
Located amid some of Rhode Island’s best farmland, The Peony Farm provides an excellent flower-growing environment. Although we grow many types of flowers, we decided to take advantage of our setting by specializing in the peony, a long-time favorite among gardeners and a relatively easy flower to grow. With Clint’s degree in agriculture from the University of Vermont and our combined years of gardening experience, we hope to help you with any problems or questions you may have about growing this lovely plant.
At the present time, we grow more than 60 varieties of peonies, some as plant stock and some to supply floral designers and florists with fresh-cut flowers. Each year, we will add to our collection, and, as the plants mature, we will offer them to our customers. In addition to the old favorites, we are particularly interested in the new hybrids. With their stronger stems and shorter plants, they provide highly satisfactory bedding plants. We are also excited about the many new shrub-like intersectionals.
During 2007, several groups toured our gardens, including garden clubs from Zones 1 and 2 of the Garden Club of America, as well as two local garden clubs.
Jane belongs to the Little Compton Garden Club, which is part of the Garden Club of America, and we are both members of the American Peony Society.
