Intersectional Peonies

Intersectional peonies are a cross between herbaceous peonies and tree peonies. Developed in Japan by Mr. Itoh, they are also known as Itoh Hybrids. These plants have the attractive leaf form of tree peonies, but they die to the ground in the winter. Strong and healthy with a nice rounded bush form, they are generally shorter than herbaceous peonies. Because they are new and still in short supply, intersectionals are more expensive than herbaceous peonies.
